Davies Howe is proud to announce that our partner of 30 years, Kimberly Beckman has been awarded the 2024 OBA Award of Excellence in Municipal Law.

This prestigious award recognizes municipal lawyers for their significant contributions and leadership to enhance the practice of municipal law in Ontario.

Kimberly exemplifies every one of the qualities that the Award is intended to recognize.

During her illustrious career with Davies Howe, Kimberly was widely recognized among her peers in the municipal law bar, within the broader legal profession and in the real estate development industry as a leader, particularly in relation to developer cost sharing agreements and infrastructure financing. Indeed, with the encouragement of Jeff Davies, Kimberly is credited with establishing and developing this practice area within municipal law, which has proven to be instrumental in helping to create “complete communities” across the Province.

In addition to making a significant substantive contribution to municipal law, Kimberly has always demonstrated a commitment to continuing legal education as a frequent speaker and regular contributor to programs hosted by the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario.

To this day, Kimberly’s name is synonymous with the highest degree of professionalism and the core values that have guided Davies Howe, including integrity, creativity, excellence and teamwork.

Kimberly will be presented with the award on June 11th and we all take tremendous pride in her accomplishments.

Congratulations Kimberly for this richly deserved recognition.
