Ali is a Land Use Planner who practices in the areas of municipal planning, land development, and zoning. He supports clients in planning and development matters by conducting research, analyzing policies and by-laws, preparing public notices, affidavits, maps, and hearing materials, and assisting with file and case management. His work also includes supervising and training co-op planning students.
Ali joined Davies Howe LLP after gaining experience in municipal planning, policy research, and professional association work. He previously worked as a Research Assistant with the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University, as an Intern with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, and as a Planning Placement Student with the City of Toronto’s City Planning Division.
He earned his Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University, graduating with Distinction, and received multiple awards, including the Isabella and Oscar Zacharias Undergraduate Research Award, the Ted Tyndorf Award, the Donald J. Logan Class of ’73 Award, and the Jacob Circo Student-in-Action Award.
Ali is a Candidate Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and is pursuing his Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation. He also serves on OPPI’s Career Path Programming Committee.
