About David

David is a partner who practices commercial litigation.

His practice encompasses a wide range of areas including insurance law, contracts and commercial disputes, employment and human rights law, real estate, and land use litigation.

David has specialized expertise in insurance defense and coverage issues in the following fields:

  • Life, disability, travel and health insurance;
  • Property and general liability insurance;
  • Directors’ and officers’ insurance / errors and omissions insurance;
  • Fidelity bonds;
  • Professional liability products; and
  • Reinsurance disputes.

David has appeared before all levels of the Ontario Courts and the Federal Court of Canada.  He has also represented both public and private sector clients before various administrative tribunals including federal and provincial employment and human rights tribunals, as well as commercial arbitration panels.

David is the author of numerous articles published in industry journals. He is a regular presenter at the CLHIA (Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association) Annual Legal Conference covering topics such as “Sex, Gender and Human Rights,” “Post-Concussion Syndrome Cases,” “Litigating Invisible Disabilities,” and “Genetic Testing – The Legal Environment” as well as providing regular Ontario case law updates.
